Hot Water Boiler Heating System – Thinking about upgrading is it worth it?
I have a Hot Water Boiler Heating System for the last 5 years and I was wondering whether I should buy a new one because I feel it’s costing me too much but is it worth the investment to upgrade. What type of maintenance must these machines undergo to ensure proper function and efficiency?
Thanks
Bill
Hey Bill, If you’re looking into buying a new system they have some really great eco-efficient ones these days that can save you tons of money on your energy bills. They also have these great tankless water heaters that occupy 90% less space than tank heaters and can provide you with unlimited supply of hot water. In terms of whether it is a good investment, I would say yes because the tank is only going to end up costing you more in the future and you’ll eventually have to replace it, now would be better so you can start saving money now. Automatic Air Vent 1/2" Male NPT Solar Water Systems & Boiler Applications
Usage:
The brass vertical air vent is used for exhausting air automatically from hot and cold water pipeline systems, pressure vessels and in central air conditioniung. It can prevent water overflow and accumulation of air in pipes which impedes the flow of water. The maximum working temperature is 120°C (248°F), the maximum working pressure is 1.6 Mpa (235 psi) and the acceptable working fluids are water and antifreeze mixtures with water.
Features:
Made with a red hot forging process. Includes filtering device, high sensitivity, has high reliability and a long life-span.
Installation:
The air vent should be mounted vertically in the top of the system. For hot water heating systems it should be installed at the top of the end portion of the piping system.
Prior to installing, check to be sure all seals and gaskets are in place and not broken. In-tact O-rings are essential to prevent fluid loss.
Install the air vent by securing the seat first, then tighten the valve to the seat.

Can anyone guide me on a layout for a zoned heating system (Hot Water Boiler)?
I have designed a system that has 8 zones for hot water heating in a home. The boiler is set into place, the floor tubing is installed.
I could just piece it together and it will work, but looking at other people's systems on the internet, I am somewhat confused on what the best practical way to physically install it.
Most people get a large piece of plywood and mount everything on the wall, but my system has 3 circulating pumps, a computer, transformer, expansion tank and zone valves. That's a lot of crap to try to cluster together and still try to make it look good.
I feel that some of these pumps will need special brackets that have to be extended from the wall, which means the piping will have to be extended from the wall too.
Any links to good photos and drawings will be appreciated.
I don't really know what you have here but, eight zones, how big is your house? it must be missive. Three circulating pumps? wow! computers and transformers, Oh! no. I really do think you should take a walk on the wild side and go to a heating and cooling dealer and get some rough estimates. If you live in a Northern climate, I came from, winter there are, and have, hit 55 below zero with a 20 mile an hour wind. With all this "crap" as you call it hanging from a wall, if anything would go wrong, it would take a team of experts 'till spring to find it. If you had some idea but, you don't seem to, except theory. Get some real estimates and go from there if anything.
I have hot water boiler heating system. There are four zones.?
I have hot water boiler heating system. There are four zones.?
The living room zone is farthest from the boiler. If I just open this zone, the hot water could reach the living room and return. But if I open all of the four zones, the rest three zones works. The living room zone will have no heat. I have checked the pressure which is more than 12psi. The temp is around 80C. I don't know what is the problem?
Thanks.
hmm
We have a 3 boiler, hot water heating system for a 60 unit apartment community, there are 2 Bell & gossett?
circulating pumps that circulate the water. We alternate the pumps monthly. Would is be of any benefit to run them both at the same time? Or would it harm the pumps? The problem we are having is the apartments at either ends of the building are not getting enough hot water to heat the apartments. The temperature here has been record breaking low (110 degrees at night and only getting to 4 above in the day). What else can we do?
Edited to say... -10 degrees not 110!
First thing, check the temperature of the water getting to the end apartments. The first ones may be using most of the heat just take a check of the water temp leaving the boiler and then again as it enters the last apartment if this is the problem raise the water temperature.
